Red Sox, Red wine, and Red ink

First off, I'm with Kaitlin: what is going on with everyone???? I want updates!

So, it's Sunday night. I am sitting in my apartment watching my boys (the sox, duh), sipping red wine, and trying to lesson plan for the whole week.

This week marks my first five-day week at school. I am excited and hopeful that tomorrow the organization that my school has been sorely lacking will be all figured out.

So far it has been completely exhausting and frustrating, but I have had those moments of clarity when I know exactly why I am doing what I am doing and those moments are thrilling.

My students are excellent and inquisitive. They are goofy and thoughtful. They frequently talk amongst themselves and yet they are easy to involve in all-class discussions. They ask excellent questions, which I often have to go home and look up the answers to (especially in history). They keep me on my toes and tire me out and I hope I will do the same for them.

I would share more, but it is almost 11:30 and I have to get ready for bed! I was going to go to bed even EARLIER but the sox kept me up with an amazing 9th, despite our loss.

So my lovelies, that was my feeble attempt to resurrect the blog. As Drew said this summer, there will come a time when we are all living totally separate lives and the blog will be a distant memory which we no longer have any connection to. But until then...

Write!

Love you all,
a

i think the blog really has become just this small group of people... ironically (or perhaps not so much?) the very same people, for the most part, who kept getting together over the summer.

where is everyone else?

I wouldn't worry so much about it. People are super busy and making big changes and don't always have time to post.
