My summer job(s)

After working insane 40+ hour weeks last summer, this summer (so far at least) has proven to be very different. It's not that I haven't been working. I rarely sleep past 8 and my days have been mostly packed, but my summer jobs so far have been a nice change from changing diapers all day (though that is to come!) (and no, i'm not pregnant).
So far I've spent time working at my grandpa's hospital doing the gardening and I have been back at Conn working reunion with my lovely ladies. Also, I'm staying at my pregnant aunt's house this summer and living for free in return for help while she's pregnant and when the baby comes. So, I've been doing all sorts of chores like the groccery shopping and walking the dog and letting the workmen in and doing the dishes and making dinner (aka PASTA) etc... So what about CELS???????
Actually, my internship has been slow, but so far pretty awesome. I'm reading 200 + pages a week (nothing to complain about for an english major), writing responses on all the various things, and meeting with him weekly to discuss it all. Then, hopefully next week the more intense research starts. I will be spending more of my time in the NYU library (because it's AMAZING) and probably meeting with him more frequently. On top of that, much of his research connects to my proposed thesis and so that, too, has been taking up my time.
However, the most exciting thing for me today is that my two closest friends from Prague are BOTH in the area and for the first time EVER the three of us are going out to dinner at an English speaking restaurant! We did all of our adventuring together abroad, but the three of us haven't all been together since. So, that my friends, is my thrill of the day. And now the garage door fixer man is here so off to play Home Owner.

lots of love and silliness,
a
